Almost everyone loves the taste and aroma of freshly grilled barbecue. It has become part of the national tradition finding its way into the American culture.
Most Popular day for grilling barbecue
The results of different polls taken in the United States at different times has revealed that 4th July is the most popular day for grilling barbecue, taking 71%. However, Canada day also sits at the top of the list as well. Memorial Day, on the other hand, stands at 57% for the day when people love to grill outdoor while Labour Day stands at 55% you are a true lover of barbecue you know the days not to miss grilling barbecue.
The Most grilled food
These days it is possible to cook almost everything using a grill, from appetizers to desserts, but every individual has their favorite food. 85% of the people would love to have their hamburger grilled on a barbecue grill, while 80% of people polled that they would love to have Steaks on the barbecue grill, putting it at the second place behind burger. Most kids, however, were all keen on having their hot dog grilled, being their most grilled meal of choice and others have chosen the regular chicken which stood at the 4th place. Corn and Potatoes, on the other hand, stood out among non-meat foods being grilled as a side dish.
Smother additions
Sauces, marinades, dips, rubs and a host of other endless additions are used to make grilled barbecue sweeter. Honey and hot spices are also a common place when grilling meats. Long-handle tongs are also a favorite utensil to use by 77% of people to ensure from the tender skins are preserved from the flames. Kitchen forks are used by 64% of people.
White house lawns also grill Barbecue
American presidents also enjoy freshly grilled barbecues on the lawn of the white house since the time of Thomas Jefferson. The first White House Barbecue was hosted by Lyndon B. Johnson featuring the Texas-styled barbecue ribs. Also, 500 guests also enjoyed “pig pickin” hosted by Jimmy Carter and Nancy and Ronald Regan. George Bush Senior also held regular barbecue congressional members on the south lawn annually.
